History abound in remarkable Ashbrook. Built circa 1936 on Park Road where the YWCA stands today. It was moved to it's current location in 1958 when Ashbrook was transitioning from the Ashcraft Plantation to a residential neighborhood. One of the first houses on Paddock Circle - horses grazed around the grounds until the early 1970's. Modern day Ashbrook offers a location that is tough to beat. Stroll across the street to Park Road Shopping Center, Dine on Montford Drive or spend the afternoon in Freedom Park.

Providence Retreat is a beautiful neighborhood tucked away just off of Providence Road, conveniently located near great shopping, dining and entertainment, as well as near plenty of recreational options. Plus, it offers easy access to both Highway 51 and Highway 485, and features stunning homes and amazing privacy within the city.
The neighborhood offers quiet tree-lined streets with timeless architecture, cobblestone details and flickering gas lanterns. If you are looking for a new construction luxury home, this may be a great neighborhood for you. There are only two homes currently on the market which represents 2.2 months of inventory, and one of the homes is under contract. So, if you like what you see here, it is best to act quickly. Inventory here is low compared with Charlotte as a whole, which has 3.9 months of inventory. While we definitely have a seller’s market on our hands, the stats indicate a very stable market with very little fluctuation in either the averages sales price or the average price per square foot.
The average sales price has hovered around $768,000 for the past year and the average price per square foot has hovered around $206 for the past year. There has been a slight but steady increase in the number of homes sold per month over the last 12 months, but we are still not seeing a ton of movement in the neighborhood.
The homes currently listed in Providence Retreat are over 4,100 square feet and have four bedrooms and at least four bathrooms. They are absolutely gorgeous and are worth taking a look at.
As a resident of Providence Plantation I look to provide fresh and relevant n'hood info. -Scott Russo
